Client Projects
As a healthcare management consultant, I have had the privilege of working on some of the most transformational and challenging projects our healthcare system has ever faced. Recent initiatives include establishing Canada’s first Post-COVID-19 recovery network and consulting on the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out for clinically vulnerable populations in BC.
01
Post COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network
Role: Project Director
Objective: Develop a network of services to support post-COVID-19 recovery
Project Overview:
I had the pleasure of working as a Project Director for BC’s Post-COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network—a first in Canada and among the first in North America. Working in partnership with regional health authorities, patients, and research organizations, we identified a framework to support the best possible outcomes for people who have experienced serious cases of COVID-19. The work of the Post-COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network is delivered through regional clinics with standardized referral pathways, clinical tests and intervals, and the development of physician- and patient-facing tools and educational resources.
02
COVID-19 Vaccine Planning for special populations
Role: Operational Consultant
Objective: Develop a vaccine roll-out framework for the clinically extremely vulnerable population
Project Overview:
As an Operational Consultant, I facilitated the development of clinically extremely vulnerable population (aged 16 – 74) definitions with expert physicians and providers in cancer care, kidney diseases, and other immunocompromised conditions. In this role, I provided operational logistics for identifying and notifying priority populations and developed supportive clinical guidance for healthcare providers and patients regarding dose timing and clinical considerations for COVID-19 vaccination. These clinical guidances can be found on the BCCDC website.
03
BC Children's Outreach and Regional Clinic Planning
Role: Change Management Consultant
Objective: Deliver child health services closer to the home of patients
Project Overview:
In the role of a Change Management Consultant, I designed and implemented BC’s Annual Outreach Service Plan for specialty and sub-specialty outreach clinics co-designed by BC Children’s Hospital and Child Health BC. The increased need to deliver services closer to home, limited human resources and increasing costs (annually $1M) requires establishing an annual planning process for 13 sub-specialty outreach clinics. I identified change initiatives needed for successful project execution, conducted stakeholder analysis, and implemented a change management strategy.
04
Service Planning for BC Cancer Agency
Role: Project Manager
Objective: Address the increased need for outpatient medical oncology services
Project Overview:
Working as a Project Manager, I implemented the Adult Outpatient Medical Oncology Tiers of Service to coordinate services for BC Cancer, the Regional Health Authorities, First Nations Health Authority and collaborators (Ministry of Health, non-profit organizations, etc.) to address the increased need for outpatient medical oncology services combined with limited human resource and healthcare facility constraints. In this role, I validated and prepared reports for six Regional Cancer Centres and 31 Community Oncology Network Clinics that identified achievements and opportunities in relation to the Tiers of Service module.
